In Rebecca Adler-Nissen (dir.), "Bourdieu in International Relations. Rethinking Key Concepts in IR". Londres : Routledge, 2012

Auteurs :
Frédéric Mérand et Amélie Forget

Synopsis :
Bourdieu in International Relations offers an introduction to Bourdieu ’s thinking for a wider IR audience. The last few years have seen a wave of publications promoting sociology in international relations. Scholars have suggested that Bourdieu ’s vocabulary can be applied as an epistemological or a theoretical point of departure, as an analytical toolbox to study security, diplomacy or foreign policy. Yet we still lack a systematic and accessible analysis of what a Bourdieu-inspired IR might look like.

The book challenges key assumptions, which currently structure IR scholarship and it provides an original theoretical restatement of some of the core concepts in the field. Bourdieu in International Relations will be of interest to critical theorists, and scholars of IR theory.
